HIWI Uganda and St. Joseph’s Hospital Wakiso have built a strong, collaborative approach to community health, delivering impactful projects supported by valued partners and donors such as Smile Train, Buganda Kingdom, Indo-Africa, and Operation Rainbow Canada, with USAID among our key previous funders. Together, we implement programs that strengthen access to essential health services for underserved populations. Current joint initiatives include HIV testing and counseling, maternal and child health clinics, nutritional support, community sensitization on WASH, and targeted outreach to vulnerable households. These programs focus on prevention, early detection, and promoting positive health behaviors.

Past collaborative projects have included large-scale immunization drives, comprehensive family planning outreach, malaria awareness and prevention campaigns, and behavior change communication activities across multiple communities. In this partnership, HIWI leads the advocacy, community mobilization, and education components, while St. Joseph’s Hospital Wakiso provides the clinical expertise and medical services. This combined approach ensures accessible, coordinated, and sustainable healthcare for the communities we serve.
